Passive trust is a trust in which the trustee has no active duties to perform. In a passive trust the trustee has no duty other than to transfer the property to the beneficiary. The retention of legal title is not essential to the performance of any duty imposed upon the trustee. Passive trust is also termed as dry trust or nominal trust or simple trust.
