If I live in Tennessee does Tennessee or Mississippi law control property I own in Mississippi?

You stated that you own personal and real estate in Mississippi but live in Tennessee and do not have a Will. You want to know which laws control who gets this property since no Will, Tennessee or Mississippi.

The law of Mississippi controls who will receive the property if there is no Will.  If you make a valid Will you can specify who will receive the property but it will still be subject to the laws of Mississippi such as spousal rights in Mississippi.
